It's been a great pleasure working with Jason and his team for the past few months. We wanted to enroll our son into a safe, clean and personal environment. Our son looks forward to going twice a week. Their teaching methods incorporate physical exercise with real life skills. Their anti-bullying program is a big plus and it is one of the main reasons why we enrolled him. As a father, I have decided to join him in his Gracie Jiu-Jitsu journey. I originally started at Gracie University, and moved to Santa Clarita. Once I found out about Gracie Santa Clarita I was ecstatic. This is my new home, Jason is an awesome teacher and knows is craft well. Also, everyone is so friendly and welcoming, I’m always looking forward to training.

I’m so happy to have chosen Gracie jujitsu for my 7 year old son because it’s a very kid friendly environment. The teachers are very professional and make the learning experience fun for the kids. My son attended the Gracie bullyproof kid’s program and we absolutely loved it! He looked forward to going each class. Coaches Gilbert, Jason, and Nelson were patient and kind while making the class structured and fun. We are looking forward to learning more jiu jitsu!
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Santa Clarita has been a wonderful experience for my son. He attended the free classes during October and we signed up to attend regularly at the end of the session. Gilbert and Jason are so welcoming, and great with kids. They know how to keep them engaged and really learn! This is the first activity that my son has actually been excited to go to every week and wants to practice when we get home!

I tried the sport style somewhere else a long time ago and quit because I always felt like I was going to get injured and wasn't learning properly. Gracie Jiu Jitsu style teaches very specific moves each class in a controlled and safe fashion that prepares you for street self defense. You are cooperating with your partner to perform the move on each other taking turns as the bad guy rather than competing with them. This is the best and safest way to learn and this location makes it safe, inclusive, and positive for everyone who goes here in Santa Clarita. You won't regret it.
Having spent quite a few years off the mats and being ranked a purple-belt, one of the big concerns coming back is getting smashed in open wrestling (rolling) sessions. Especially by younger, stronger and lower ranked guys looking to prove themselves on fresh meat.This Gracie Jiu Jitsu system slows everything down to learn and re-enforce the self-defense fundamentals of original Brazilian style Jiu Jitsu before any open sparring. This is perfect for me as my body gets used to being on the mats again.I'd recommend ANYONE of ANY age looking to try Brazilian Jiujitsu to come by the only Certified Gracie BJJ studio in Santa Clarita. Especially idf you practiced BJJ before but have been away for a while.The great workout, easy pace, extremely safe and encouraging environment will keep you coming back every time.
Jason and the other instructors at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Santa Clarita do a fantastic job. They use the Gracie Academy method of breaking down techniques, explaining real-life applications, demonstrating each technique, and overseeing students’ practice. It is a clean and safe place to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, even for women, of whom there are several in class. I encourage anyone considering Jiu Jitsu to give Grace Jiu-Jitsu Santa Clarita a try.
Great school and fantastic experience!!! Coaches are wonderful and very knowledgeable. My son (11) has never taken any martial arts yet he is thriving and learning so much! The bully proof program is icing on the cake. Highly recommend this studio!
I was on vacation in Santa Clarita and dropped by for a Combatives class. The owner, Jason, was out, but Nelson, purple belt, taught class. They are both certified Gracie Combatives instructors. I am a black belt of one of the sons of Grand Master Helio Gracie and previously a Gracie University certified instructor as well.The facility is immaculate. Beautiful school, with a picture of Helio Gracie prominently displayed along with official GU posters, curriculum, cards, etc. I was politely greeted by a a student and offered water while Nelson, purple belt, taught a kids class, which tells me Jason and Nelson are doing right in terms of Gracie jiujitsu culture. Nelson taught the class by the book! Everything by the numbers just like we are taught in the ICP. This is probably the best experience I've had in the few CTCs I have visited around the country. The club is new and in its infancy having opened earlier this year.Jason and Nelson are doing a fantastic job and I look forward to visiting again.
I recently had the opportunity to train at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu gym in Santa Clarita, and I must say it was an outstanding experience. The instructors, Jason and Nelson, were incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in teaching the art of Gracie Combatives. The program they offer is structured specifically to cater to new students like myself, starting from the basics and gradually building up to more advanced techniques.What impressed me the most was the instructors' teaching style. They made complex moves easy to understand and follow, breaking them down into simple steps. The one-on-one guidance they provided was exceptional, ensuring that every student received individual attention and personalized feedback.The gym itself was clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant training environment. It's conveniently located in Santa Clarita, making it easily accessible for both residents and visitors. The facility had spacious changing rooms, clean bathrooms, and even lockers to securely store personal belongings.I would also like to give a special mention to Walter and Emilio, who are highly ranked students at the gym. As a new student and white belt, their assistance was invaluable. They were always willing to help, correcting my movements and guiding me through the techniques. Their support added an extra layer of learning and made me feel welcomed in the gym.Overall, my experience at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu gym in Santa Clarita exceeded my expectations. With the exceptional instructors, well-structured program, and welcoming atmosphere, it is undoubtedly a top-notch training facility for anyone interested in learning Gracie Jiu-Jitsu/self-defense techniques.
This school has been a great experience and awesome learning environment for me. As someone who is new to BJJ i have found the instructors (Jason & Nelson) to be extremely helpful and resourceful in the art. They are always open to questions and more than happy to go out of their way to ensure you understand the material each and every class. I highly recommend Santa Clarita Gracie Jiu Jitsu CTC for everyone and every age.Jason is an excellent Gracie instructor, leader and practitioner. He is very dedicated, enthusiastic and enjoys teaching. He engages with everyone with genuine respect. He is genuine as a person and in his commitment to the Gracie journey. He is very safety conscious as it is his and Gracie’s top priority. The techniques are shown and demonstrated very well with detailed explanations and he is very patient with all students as well as with all questions.He is very welcoming and His classes are well organized safe family friendly and fun. The combatives program is well structured and very safe to learn the defensive techniques if learning to survive on the streets. It is also well structured to promoting and moving on to competitive jiu Jitsu if that is your goal.Jason runs a very controlled combatives program to insure no students are injured or discouraged so they may learn faster and continue the program without quitting. There is no full blown sparring in combatives until you have promoted. I agree with this concept 100% as I can personally attest to many injuries and discouragement of previous martial arts.
Jason is a great trainer. He has given me confidence in defending myself. There is a lot of detail in the moves and he is teaching safety first and foremost. Every woman should take his course. Best self defense course I have ever taken.
Of the two SCV jiu jitsu schools I enrolled in, this one was the better choice. Jason (the owner) is a natural teacher who focuses on step by step instruction and helps you retain the training by reviewing previous lessons. This style of jiu jitsu also puts everything in a self defense, real world context, rather than teaching technical aspects alone. I joined both schools without any prior martial arts experience, and I found that this school, which is part of the Gracie network, documents your progress and takes a very professional approach with lower risk of injury. Jason was also quick to return my phone calls and texts, and took whatever time was needed to answer my questions.
Jason is a great instructor, well articulated and knowledgeable. Santa Clarita Jiu Jitsu is a family oriented training center, no bullies, wolves or attitudes, you are treated with dignity and respect. Jason has been an awesome trainer. I want to start by thanking Jason for his dedication to his craft. He really cares and puts 110% into it. My daughter really enjoyed learning different techniques, verbal, non-verbal, de-escalation styles, problem solving; all for her own safety. As a parent, like many out there would like to be there with our children to protect them every waking hour of the day but most of us can't. We have to work and provide. The Gracie Bully Program Jason offers is on of many he has available. I like the patience he has with his students, he teaches without any hostility. He makes the lessons fun for the kids and leaving them with a sense of accomplishment when they can demonstrate a move. He is a great teacher.
My son really enjoys going to Jason's class. He takes the time to work with students individually. He builds in life lessons with Jiu Jitsu. I feel confident that these skills will help my son navigate different situations at school. He will enter middle school next year...so this is crucial for him.

I fell in love with this place after taking my first class. I decided to waive my right to a ten day free trial and sign up right away. There is no ego or people getting rag dolled around by higher belts here which is really nice because that’s what always turned me away from other gyms. Our instructor Jason is awesome, he teaches the techniques very well and gives solid feedback. I have so much fun I’m there every single class. You get a real sense of family and cohesion while getting to learn the coolest martial art ever to walk this earth. You get ten days for free no matter what so come on by! 10/10 recommend

Jason kills it! He makes classes so much fun and educational. He’s so good I had my brother get my 9 year old nephew into classes with him and he loves it. If you’re in Santa Clarita and want to do any kind of self defense classes Jason is the guy to see!
I started with Jason as a beginner in his Gracie Garage. He is extremely patient and focused and knowledgeable and dedicated. If I ever had questions we would work them out until it was very clear. I was amazed at the family this environment creates and would recommend this for anyone. Young, old, tall or short it’s an extremely satisfying self defense martial art. Can’t wait to continue on with my training.
